Legal Requirements |
• Visa and Study Permits
You will require a study permit if you plan to study in Canada for six months or more. In some cases, (depending on the country you come from), you will also require a temporary resident permit. It is the student's responsibility to get the appropriate visas and permits to study in Canada.

• Working in Canada
You are not permitted to work in Canada without a work permit. If you do work without permission, you will be asked to leave.

• Travel in Canada
You can travel freely in Canada as long as you have the required entry permits. No additional travel permits are required.
• Students under 18 years
If you are under 18 years of age, you require a custodian in Canada. A custodian is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident designated by parents to provide care and be responsible for you while you study in Canada.
You must supply a notarized declaration, one signed by the parent or legal guardians in the country of origin, as well as one signed by the custodian in Canada, stating that arrangements have been made for the custodian to act in place of parent.

• Heath Insurance
Hospitals and emergency care are very expensive in Canada. All students must have insurance. For details on costs, please see the section on Fees and Application. YPLS students are insured through INGLE International.
Health insurance provided by YPLS through INGLE International is effective from the Saturday before the session starts and expires the Sunday after the last session ends. Extra days can be arranged upon request.

• Liability
YPLS of Canada will not be held responsible for any sickness, injury, damage or loss incurred within the school or on school activities or tours, or at the student's place of accommodation.
